This website is dedicated to love of literature, imagination and curiosity.
I want to define good reading, not as something that is particularly studious, academic or laborious, but rather as a beautiful process wherein the reader accepts the author’s world and then engages in a conversation with the author through asking questions and questioning everything that happens. This website will help the reader understand themes, subjects, and plot through illustrating how to look up and reference passages and how to ask the correct questions. We won’t always have answers for those questions, and sometimes our answers will be wrong, but that won’t be the point. Through asking questions, and creating new ones, we will start getting a better grip on the text and it will make a bigger impression on us, allowing us to appreciate and understand the stories we read better.
Reading is a journey, and if one prepares well, they will the text to be richer than they ever could have imagined it to be. I think of curiosity, engagement and interest as skills you can hone and practice. There is no reason to think “I don’t have the attention span” or “I just don’t get it.” You just haven’t had the proper guide! So come with me and let’s enjoy this journey together.
